Identification

Previously included the Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill (T. leucomelas) as a race. The two can be separated by range and the colour of bare skin around the eye (blackish in T. flavirostris; pinkish in T. leucomelas)

Distribution

Eastern Africa.

Taxonomy

Previously considered conspecific with the Southern Yellow-billed Hornbill T. leucomelas.

Tockus flavirostris is monotypic.
