- P. f. flavescens: Hills of southern Assam (south of the Brahmaputra) to western Burma
- P. f. vividus: North-eastern Burma to south-western China (Yunnan), Thailand and northern Indochina
- P. f. sordidus: Southern Indochina
- P. f. leucops: Northern Borneo (Mt. Kinabalu to Mt. Mulu and Mt. Murud)
