Identification

Distribution

The Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago and widespread throughout South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Brazil, The Guianas, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil, Bolivia, Paraguay and Argentina

Taxonomy

• C. f. abanisi:

• Northern Colombia to north-eastern Venezuela; Trinidad and Tobago

• C. f. duidae:

• Southern Venezuela and north-western Brazil

• C. f. fumosus:

• The Guianas and north-eastern Brazil

• C. f. fuscatior:

• South-western Venezuela, south-eastern Colombia, eastern Ecuador, eastern Peru and central Brazil

• C. f. beniensis:

• Northern Bolivia

• C. f. bimaculatus:

• Central Bolivia, southern and eastern Brazil, Paraguay and northern Argentina

• C. f. fuscatus:

• South-eastern Brazil and north-eastern Argentina
