South America: found in the mountains of western Panama (Chiriquí and Veraguas).

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Behaviour

At the time of editing (2014) there is very little information available about their behaviour. Diet is thought to be similar to Scintillant Hummingbird
