- G. e. excelsa:
- Western Venezuela (Sierra de Perijá) and Andes of Lara to Táchira
- G. e. phelpsi:
- Coastal mountains of northern Venezuela (Colonia Tovar in Aragua)
Habitat
Dense cloud forest. Mostly above 2000m.
Behaviour
Diet
A ground feeder. Thought to eat insects but little information available.
