South America: endemic to Venezuela

  • Western Venezuela (Sierra de Perijá) and Andes of Lara to Táchira
  • G. e. phelpsi:
  • Coastal mountains of northern Venezuela (Colonia Tovar in Aragua)

Habitat

Dense cloud forest. Mostly above 2000m.

Diet

A ground feeder. Thought to eat insects but little information available.
