Sexes similar.
Distribution
South America: endemic to Peru in the Eastern Andes.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Some authorities for a while placed this species in the genus Leucippus.
Habitat
Disturbed secondary montane evergreen forest with ornamentals. Humid Subtropical Life Zone. Hotel gardens. Observed at heights around 2040 m elevation
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of nectar. They will visit feeders.
