Asia and Australasia
Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Moluccas
Australasia: Papua New Guinea, Australia: Queensland
Taxonomy
This species is sometimes placed in the genus Timeliopsis by some authorities[2].
Subspecies
There are 4 subspecies[1]:
- G. f. pallida:
- Batanta and Waigeo islands (New Guinea)
- G. f. poliocephala:
- Aru Islands, Misool Island and north-western New Guinea
- G. f. fallax:
- New Guinea (west to Geelvink Bay and Onin Pen.); Yapen Island
- G. f. claudi:
- North-eastern Queensland (McIlwraith Range)
Habitat
Tropical rainforest and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
They are insectivorous, but will also eat small fruits.
