Identification

11–13 cm (4¼-5 in)

  • Green overall plumage
  • Stout bill, finely serrated

Distribution

Africa: found from north-eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo to western Uganda; with a single record from north-western Tanzania

Taxonomy

This is one of the two Sunbirds that have recently been moved to the genus Deleornis from the genus Anthreptes.

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Primary and secondary forests and forest clearings. Usually found at heights around 700–1550 m.

Behaviour

Diet

They forage in the middle and top storeys for insects, spiders and small fruits.
