Identification
33-34 cm, including tail-streamers.

Similar species
Common Paradise Kingfisher is very similar but note entirely white tail with less marked spatulate tips in this species.
Distribution
Endemic to Kofiau Island, west of New Guinea, Indonesia.
Reported as common and widespread in its very small range.

This is a monotypic species.
Has been regarded conspecific with Common Paradise Kingfisher and Biak Paradise Kingfisher.
Habitat
Primary and tall secondary forest in the lowlands.
Behaviour
A poorly known species.
Probably forages for insects in muddy forest understorey.
