Identification
11-12 cm. A medium-sized leaf warbler with a long and heavy bill.
- Long, fine olive-yellow supercilium contrasts with dark blackish-olive forehead and crown
- Deep brown cheek and ear-coverts, finely tipped with dull yellow
- Dull or dark olive-brown upperparts with faint wing-bar
- Paler and brighter underparts with obscure streaks

Similar to Island Leaf Warbler (subspecies pallescens) but note blackish forehead and crown, darker upperparts and duller yellowish underparts.
Distribution
Endemic to Kolombangara Island in the Western Solomon Islands.
An uncommon to scarce restricted-range species with a very small populations (estimated at 930 to 2100 birds).

Mossy forest.
Occurs at 1200 to 1740 m. Occurs at higher elevations than sympatric Island Leaf Warbler.
