Identification
Slender and pale decurved bill. Rufous brown above, buffy white throat, underparts have white streaks on a light brown background.

Four subspecies recognized which are all sometimes recognized as full species
- L. a. albolineatus - Lineated Woodcreeper
- L. a. duidae - Duida Woodcreeper
- L. a. fuscicapillus - Rondonia Woodcreeper
- L. a. layardi - Layard's Woodcreeper
- Eastern Amazonian Brazil, east of the Tapajós River
