42-48 cm. White iris with a blue ring around the pupil.

Endemic to Australia.

This is a monotypic species.

Very dry, near desert areas.

[edit] Behaviour

Diet includes insects, cereals, and other seeds. It is a ground feeder.

It usually nests in small colonies, building stick nests lined with mud.
