Similar to Brush Wattlebird but with a stronger silvery patch of feathers giving a streaked impression on the side of head and neck starting below the eye. Eye is red and bill is longer than in Brush Wattlebird.

This is a monotypic species. Until recently, it was considered part of Brush Wattlebird. Notice that some sources use Little Wattlebird to indicate Brush Wattlebird and call this form Western Wattlebird.
