Identification

28 cm (11 in)

  • Black and white head bands
  • Wine coloured eye right
  • Olive-brown upperparts
  • Grey breast

Distribution

Mountains of peninsular Malaysia.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
It was formerly included in Grey-breasted Partridge.

Habitat

Rain forests at around 1000–1600 m (mostly at the upper levels).

Behaviour

Diet

There is little detail information. They are known to eat fruit and termites.
