Identification

25 to 28cm

• Green plumage
• Maroon belly patch
• Yellow-green barred breast and front and sides of neck
• Brownish ear patch
• Black beak
• Maroon undertail
• The dark-tipped primaries are blue on outerwebs, green on innerwebs

Distribution

Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay.

• South-eastern Brazil to south-eastern Paraguay and northern Argentina
