Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species.
It has been considered conspecific with Western Wattled Honeyeater and Eastern Wattled Honeyeater in the past.
Clements spells the scientific name taviunesis, other authorities however agree on taviunensis.
Habitat
Moist lowland forests, mangrove forests and montanes.
