14·5–16 cm; a very pale Rosefinch
Distribution
Asia: found locally in Afghanistan and China.
Taxonomy
Formerly considered conspecific with Sinai Rosefinch
Subspecies
Three subspecies recognized:
- C. s. salimalii in central Afghanistan
- C. s. stoliczkae in western China ( (south-western Xinjiang)
- C. s. beicki in central China (Sining Ho region of north-eastern Qinghai to north-western Gansu)
Habitat
Hot deserts.
Behaviour
Diet
Their diet consists mostly of seed, buds and shoots.
