Identification
Distribution
Pampas of eastern Argentina (rarely Uruguay and south-eastern Brazil). Very fragmented populations in the area, and currently classified as vulnerable due to habitat loss.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Clements places this species in the genus Sturnella.
Habitat
Temperate shrubland, grassland and pastureland. Requires old areas off tall, native pampas grasses to breed.
