11–12 cm (4¼-4¾ in)
Male

  • Straight black bill
  • Shiny green upperparts
  • Glittering green median crown stripe
  • White post-ocular spot

Found from the lower east slope of the Andes from southern Colombia, through Ecuador to northern Peru.

This is a monotypic species[1].

Humid montane forests between 250 and 1050 m.

There is very little known about their diet, apart from feeding on flowers and insects.
