[edit] IdentificationSeveral plumage variants; almost all share rufous thighs and four bars on the tail. Breast does have faint markings, opposite of what the name would make you believe. [edit] DistributionFrench Guiana, Guyana, Venezuela, and Colombia constitute the northern end of the range, [[Bolivia] the southern end. [edit] TaxonomyThis is a monotypic species which until recently was included with Sharp-shinned Hawk. [edit] HabitatHumid forest and mature second growth.
