French Guiana, Guyana, Venezuela, and Colombia constitute the northern end of the range, [[Bolivia] the southern end.

[edit] Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species which until recently was included with Sharp-shinned Hawk.

[edit] Habitat

Humid forest and mature second growth.

[edit] Behaviour

Hunts inside the forest, not above the canopy.
