Identification

Also known as the Hawk-headed Parrot.

32cm. Elongated blue and red neck feathers which become raised when excited or it feels threatened.

Amazon Basin

Taxonomy

Habitat

Tropical forests and savanna.

Behaviour

It nests in holes in trees and stumps. 1-3 eggs are laid and incubated for between 26-28 days.

Its diet includes fruit.
