Identification

Sexes dimorphic.

  • Male - body entirely glossy black with intense blue sheen;
  • Female - crown, sides of face and nape glossy blue-black, upperparts rich rufous-chestnut, underparts white.

Distribution

Australia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea.
