6·4–6·9 cm; short, straight bill
Male
- Rufous forehead and crest
- Bill red with a black tip
Similar Species
Distribution
South America: found in the Andes of eastern Colombia to western Venezuela and northern Peru.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Humid foothill forest observed at heights around 1500 m
Behaviour
Diet
There is little published information, but they are thought to eat nectar.
