Identification

Dark brown, brown chest with dark "bib", white throat patch and a pale belly. A rufous morph is discussed in this thread.

Distribution

North America, wintering in Argentina.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Prairie and dry grasslands.

Behaviour

They build a stick nest in a tree, shrub or on a cliff edge. 1-4 white eggs are laid and are incubated by the female for 34-35 days.

Diet

The diet includes locusts and insects.
