Identification

Black crown and eye-stripe, cinnamon supercilium, white throat, cinnamon belly. The most striking feature is its extraordinary tail in which each feather has a point at the tip.

Distribution

Argentina, Chile, Falkland Islands, and South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands.

Taxonomy

Habitat

Temperate forests and dry shrubland.

Behaviour

It gleans insects from leaves and bark.

It nests in holes or behind the bark of the trees.
