24cm. Sooty-brown with blue or grey cast, paler upperwing coverts forming a prominent diagonal bar, pale rump.

Northwest Hawaii Islands, and in several small islands south of [[[Japan]].

Pelagic.

[edit] Behaviour

The diet includes crustaceans, small squid and octopus. Most prey is caught on the wing or when resting on the water's surface.
