Distribution

Ecuador and Peru.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species.
It has in the past been considered a subspecies of Mangrove Swallow, but recent DNA data indicate that the closest relative of Mangrove Swallow is White-winged Swallow.

Habitat

Dry savanna, coastal salt lagoons and arable land.
