Identification
A recently described species, previously overlooked due to its similarity with Hauxwell's Thrush.
- Dull brown plumage
- Paler throat with contrasting dark longitudinal streaks
- Whitish centre of belly and vent
- Grey-brown tail
- Olive bill
- Bare yellow-orange orbital skin
Sexes similar
Similar species
Can be confused with Hauxwell's Thrush, Black-billed Thrush, Pale-breasted Thrush and Lawrence's Thrush.
Distribution
South America: found in Peru, Brazil and extreme southern Colombia.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Mainly found in Varzea forest.
Behaviour
There is little know about these birds at the time of editing (2014).
Diet
They are thought to have a varied diet including fruit and seeds.
