18 cm. Dark brown upperparts, white spots on the wings, white underparts, fan-shaped tail is edged in white, long white supercilia meet on the forehead, black throat and eyemask which border whitish moustachial stripes.

India and Sri Lanka east to Vietnam.

Albogularis from central and southern India is now usually split as Spot-breasted Fantail.

Woodlands and forest.

[edit] Behaviour

A small cup nest is built in a tree and 3 eggs are laid.

The diet includes insects.
