22cm. Green-glossed dark grey upperparts, whitish underparts, pale head. The sexes are similar, but juveniles are duller, with brown upperparts and greyer underparts.

Sri Lanka.

[edit] Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species, which is sometimes placed in the genus Sturnia, which would lead to the scientific name Sturnia albofrontata. White-faced Starling has in the past been known as Sturnus senex.

Tall forest, usually high in the canopy.

It nests in a hole and 2 eggs are laid.

The diet includes fruit, nectar and insects.
