Affordable longer lenses, any recommendations? (1 Viewer)

Hi, I have recently got into wildlife/bird photography but my background is more in sports photography. I have a Nikon D300 and a Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 which is lovely but having been out today I can see that it is nowhere near long enough. I do have a 2x teleconverter but I find that image quality is drastically reduced when using it.

Any recommendations for something longer in the £500-600 range would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the money pit (wildlife photography),in all seriousness with your budget i think i would try to push just a little further and look at the Sigma 150-600 C,the Tamron 150-600 is a second choice but i dont feel its as good (i have had both) if you did then go for new to get the Sigma 3 year or Tamron 5 year warranty.
