At 0430 this morning in pretty poor light I thought these were Commons, but now I've got home and processed the images and seen the long (ish) bills I'm more inclined to Greens...
I'd appreciate some assistance.

Things that rule out Common include the spangly patterning on the mantle and head, the lack of a pale arm band, and the more obvious dark on the breast unbroken by any pale. General coloration overall darker better for Green too.

In my defence, I was having a nightmare morning (see my 'Wader (UK)' thread) and it was very gloomy!
