Davison, Jiang, Zhengwang & De 2012. Full tree resolution of Polyplectron Temminck, 1813, confirms species status of Hainan P. katsumatae Rothschild, 1906, and Bornean Peacock-Pheasants P. schleiermacheri Brüggemann, 1877. Bull BOC 132(4): 251–259.

[The authors' names above are as cited in both the table of contents and the author index, but the family names of Chang Jiang, Zhang Zhengwang and Chen De are presumably Chang, Zhang and Chen respectively – as cited by other journals.]

Clements doesn't recognise P katsumatae as a distinct species.
