Tuesday December 13, 2005:
"RARE BIRD ALERT"
A CLARK'S GREBE was seen on the ocean near the Little Qualicum River Estuary, (from the "A" frame house along Surfside Drive, off Kincade Road) in north Qualicum Beach.
Several AMERICAN GOLDFINCH are at feeders in the Crest Mobile Park along Metral Drive in Nanaimo.
Sunday December 11:
The Sunday bird walk went to the Englishman River Estuary Plummer Road side in Parksville and sixteen birders found the following forty-eight species:

A SNOWY OWL was seen just up from the beach on the ocean side of the Estuary.

A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen perched in a old growth fir tree near the Nanaimo
River.
An ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was seen at Cathers Lake in north Nanaimo, and in the 3700 block of Sundown Place in Nanaimo
Friday December 09: ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS have been seen in the 200 block Ferntree Place in Nanaimo.
Wednesday December 07: ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRDS have been seen in the 6500 block of Parmigan Way in Nanaimo; in the 500 block of Crescent Road West in Qualicum Beach; one block north of Linley Valley in Nanaimo; in the 1300 block of Lanyon Drive in Parksville and also in the 4400 block of Wellsley Avenue near Long Lake in Nanaimo.
Tuesday December 06:
WINTER WRENS, DARK-EYED JUNCOS, CHESTNUT-BACKED CHICKADEES, STELLER'S JAYS, SPOTTED TOWHEES, HOUSE FINCHES and NORTHERN FLICKERS are coming to feeders in the 3400 block of Harris Crescent in Whiskey Creek.
Ten to twelve BUSHTITS are visiting suet feeders in the 700 block of Howard Avenue in Nanaimo.
Thursday December 01:
An ANNA'S HUMMINGBIRD was spotted in the 500 block of Crescent Road West in Qualicum beach.
