Hi folks, I have a Nikon ED82 scope with the 25x - 75x eyepiece. I love the scope and the eyepiece but would like to digi-scope with the set up. Can anybody recommend a setup that would work? It does not need to be amazing quality merely record shot quality.:t:
 
I have the same scope and eyepiece.
Emailed nikon asking the same question and they said the eyepiece was not suitable for digiscoping.
Ended up getting the 30x DS eyepiece (£180 from amazon Germany) DS8 adaptor and a coolpix p310 from eBay.
Found the eyepiece superb and leave it on the scope all the time now
Camera and adaptor work fine and I am slowly getting better with them.
Cost me around £350 in total so not a cheap option.

Thanks Toby, I suspected as such. 30x eyepiece would not be good for my style of birding but I will bare it in mind. :t:
 
Assuming you've got decent camera in your mobile, just get yourself an adapter to attach it to the 25-75x zoom. Or make one yourself. The problem with the zoom is that you'll get lots of vignetting with most phone cameras, basically just a round image. Works for record shots just fine though. Just crop the image and that's it.

Or get a P300/310/330 and an adapter. Better quality, but more stuff to carry in the field.

I'd suggest getting a DS30x.

The beauty, as I see it, of an adapter ring is that it is easy to pre-focus or visually bird, then slip on the ring and put camera to EP for imaging. Put the camera away and the ring in your pocket and carry on.
