Possible Caspian Gull - Germany

1 Attachment(s)
Sorry, another is it a Caspian Gull thread ;). Anyway, I photographed this gull at Friedrichshafen on the shores of Lake Constance in southern Germany last month. Yellow-legged Gulls were ten-a-penny and I didn't pay too much attention to this gull while photographing it.

Looking at the photo again, I think it may actually be Caspian rather than Yellow-legged Gull (small dark eye, leg-colour) and just wanted to confirm this.

Thanks in advance!

any other pic in another position? it looks like a caspian with its long pale legs and p9 mirror seems to be large. gonys however is pretty accentuated and i'd have liked to see an open wing to totally exclude a weird female michahellis.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, the bird hardly moved in the 5-10 minutes I was there and so all the pics are more or less the same.

btw. caspian gull is not at all rare during winter at lake constance (while of course YLG still dominates).

Looks a bit long in the shank/beak for YLG....

cheers
