Pros
  • These are excellent bins *for the money*.
Cons
  • I'd like to see the diopter adjustment a little stiffer; too easy to knock loose
I bought these on closeout a couple years ago for $160. I've always liked lower power bins for general use and at 6.5x32, the Furys are a terrific compromise of size, weight, FOV, optics, and price.

I find myself using them more and more these days and find the magnification is just right for many uses.

I see Vortex has a similar size in a couple other of their lines where most manufacturers have moved away from 6-7x bins in medium sizes.

These are great for birding and astronomy, especially when sweeping the Milky Way under dark skies.

Pros
  • The IS system is brilliant; works very well, optics good but not excellent.
Cons
  • Interesting ergonomics.
I bought these some years ago when you could find a pair under $300. I actually bought them for astronomy as I'd read an interesting review of them that flew in the face of, then, common wisdom for astronomical binoculars (7-10x50 or better).

What makes these so wonderful, especially under dark skies, is that IS system. For nature, it's the same thing. You get no quick shake like a typical 10x bin but rather a very damped effect. They're really quite wonderful in usage.

A 3mm exit pupil is a drawback and you're not getting the best optics with these but the IS system counters much of that.

Because of the mechanics and lack of water resistance, these are not recommended for hard field use. They are excellent backyard bins.
