Update 2009 - my tripod is still going strong! Recently purchased the Vanguard Ballhead type SBH-300. The Vanguard SBH-300 Large-Format Magnesium Alloy Ballhead has 2 onboard bubble levels and can handle an incredible weight of up to 70lbs! This combined with the Tracker III is an incredibly solid solution in particular for the heavier lenses.

Pros: Very solid / sturdy tripod. Panhead (incl.) is very pleasant to use.
Cons: Weight, but I knew that from the start.

I looked around for a tripod which would offer a stable solution for my Sigma 50-500DG APO HSM lens weighing 1.85kg (camera excluded). For the price a paid (mail order USA), this one was for a bargain price that is hard to beat. So far it meets all my expectations.
Note: there is an optional padded tripod bag available. For those considering a tripod bag the Vanguard NTB-26 fits the TrackerIII.
