The clarity that has been achieved with these optics is pretty phenomenal. I recently used this spotting scope while shooting at 1000 yards and I was actually able to see the different tones layers of spray paint on the target. This was on a 30 degree with heat mirage to contend with. Very impressed with this Swarovski!

Pros
  • Clear picture, light weight, smooth focus
Cons
Excellent quality scope. Light weight, great color, sharp clear image. The helical ring focus is very ergonomic and precise. This scope provides for a great viewing experience in a lightweight package. I did find it difficult to find the proper eye placement above 50X. Great scope for birding or hiking.

Pros
  • very sharp, light, compact, good price
Cons
I bought this scope new in 2015 with the 25-50x wide angle eye piece.
This is a brilliant little scope with very good sharpness and resolution. At 25x the sharpness is striking. The view is very comfortable with very good edge to edge sharpness.

It has a very smooth and precise focuser, as good as my old EDIII, and even has the same feel to it. It also works perfect with thick gloves on, and so does the zoom ring on the eye piece.
Overall image quality is very good between 25-40x. At 50x the brightness and contrast decreases visible, but still it's quite sharp and can be usable in some situations.
Before I bought this scope I was a bit worried about CA, but in the field I have absolutely nothing to complain about (though, under lab-conditions it's not completely free from CA).
The eye piece works fine for me at 25-30x (I use glasses) and it seems to fit me better than the ATX eye piece that is wider. At higher mag the 25-50x EP is a bit more sensitive to "kidney beaning" and finding the correct eye position takes some training.
Overall a very good scope for the money.
