I would agree. If mine had focussed consistently then the AF tracking alone was sensational. Perfectly usable up to ISO 1600 and the images seemed to have a great range of colours and tones. My buddy...

Well Canon told me to send them my printer(?) for calibration so I decided to return the camera to the retailer as faulty. They took it back without fuss.

The results were +1 for a 500 and 1.4x and -1 without the converter.

Several times I was able to track individual birds through flocks of other birds. And Long Tailed Ducks can shift... very impressed with the AF tracking of BIF albeit in good conditions.
