Basically I agree, but the market seems so saturated that quite a lot of dealers sell new bins as "demos" just to be able to lower the price and get rid of a couple more. There is no point to resist....

As far as I know Canon forces their bigger photo dealers to also sell binoculars. As the demand for the 10x42s is low, they sell at ridiculous prices just to get rid of the "junk". It´s a unique...

Regarding service in Germany, I had very similar issues with Zeiss. They all need to run their facilities based on average flows, so although for example Zeiss aims at a turnover time of only 6 days...

I assumed your problem might be this: It is very common that the focus mechanism synching the barrels does not work perfectly, even in alpha bins. If you change the diopter, it will bring the focus...

Sounds like you have a sample from the lower end of the quality tolerance... I´d recommend to send it back. 1000.- is way too low a price for a normal sample, it´s for lemons nobody wants and that...

I agree viewing comfort is a big problem in the Ultravid 8x32 making it a luxury product for bright days only. Optimized for small size with overaggressive baffling (truncated exit pupils) for good...

Glare control as everything else is a difficult trade off business. And needs to be compared in many situations. I strongly believe there is "overbaffling" in some glasses (e.g. Ultravid 8x32, Nikon...

A good sample of the HT in a technical sense is very hard to beat. I found the viewing comfort in the Ultravids better though. Probably the wider stereo base in the HT does not help in this. And it...

Nostalgia is expensive and tedious (I know for sure). Almost all Oberkochen 8x30s ( I had non-B and have latest version of B) need an expensive service to be cleaned and recollimated.
A Nikon 8x30E2,...

To my eyes, the blackening inside the Habicht is absolutely insufficient. The big cone...

About 3D - even for a 2D image I have found out this for sure: Flat fields (aka sharpness to the very edge) will yield flat, unnaturally compressed images. Combine this to a 3D system and you have -...
