Kisbalaton is good for waterfowl mainly (ducks, geese, cormorant). I would recommend Kiskunsag area for birding, much closer to Budapest and much diverse habitats and birds there.

There are Little Egrets on the front, Great White Egret, and a Giant Egret on the back :), some Black-headed Gull and probably Yellow-legged Gull.
