    Weather For November, belatedly.

    It's been a mix of weather since November started, rain showers, winds, cloudy, some sunny periods, but today constant mizzle.

    Weather For October 2013

    It's still mild, even warm out & the leaves aren't turning quickly here. Birds seem not to be eating the food much at present. I think there is to much natural food around, or, they are still moulting. A bit damp today, light mizzle in the air & misty with it, low cloud.

    Saw this on our bird feeder today, we do get a lot of House Sparrows, but this one looks different to me. Though OH says Sparrow.

    Weather For May.

    Silly me, posted in April instead of doing this, but I deleted the post in April & we are now in the May thread. Last few days glorious sunshine, today not as sunny, but still pleasant.

    Bird feeder collapsed.

    Well I guess it doesn't owe me anything, we've had it for a very long time, it was originally my old rotary clothes line, modified by OH into a pole with arms to hang feeders on. It is no more, it finally, after lots of repair has given up the ghost. The ground is so soft now with all the rain...

    Winter Blackcap

    Winter Blackcap She is here every day, a lot of the day, Guarding the bird table and the Buddleia, from all comers, House Sparrows, Chaffinches, Blue & Great Tits & the Dunnocks, even the Reed Bunting gets chased away, except the Starlings. She can't cope with those, they are much bigger...

    Goldfinches & Buddleia

    I have just seen several Goldfinches on our Buddleia eating the seeds from the dead flower heads. I didn't know they would do this. Usually OH has pruned it to within an inch of it's trunk & there are no flower heads left. Has anyone else seen Goldfinches or other birds doing this?

    A mixed bag over the first few days of December. Saturday sunny. Sunday sunny then rain. Today a very watery sun & lots of high cloud.

    Only 3 days late.:-O Cloudy but dry here today. We have had rain showers & sun over the last 3 days, a deffinite chill in the air since the 1st October. Saturday was like Summer though. How it can change in a few days.

    Three days into July & still it rains. Wettest June since records began & looks as if the same could happen this month. It's also very chilly for Summer, at only 14c.

    Sunny here, but very misty in Plymouth, we watched it coming in off the sea this morning. It's reached us here now. 7c.

    Sunny now but only 1c. The snow of yesterday didn't lay & apart from the high Western Beacon on the moor & a few cars in the town that had snow on them, no other sign we got any.

    Nest Identification Please

    Saw this nest in our Magnolia tree after all the leaves fell. I think it could be Chaffinch, but not sure. Can any one identify it for me please? I didn't know the nest was there & never saw Chaffinch parents birds in that tree. Thank you in advance.

    Weather For December 2011

    At least we haven't, so far, got the freezing icy conditions of last year. Today it's cloudy, grey & slightly damp, but fairly mild for December.
