Aggressive Hummingbird almost killed another on the window feeder today

I've seen Rubythroats fight, but not that bad. Nothing to do with hummers, but birds, at one time I had a flock of yard chickens on my property and one of the roosters and a dominant hen fought all day. I would break it up and they would start back. Finally after several hours, I saw the hen...

    Chickadee with with head

Today at my feeder, had a Chickadee with a solid white head, no black on the head. Of course I didn't have my phone or a camera handy and he hasn't come back.

    Hummingbird feeder parts

I doubt you can buy parts. However, I also doubt the hummers care if it has yellow petals. Try it without the petals.

Eastern Phoebe backyard friend ..follows me and jealous

Back in the fall I had a phoebe that was very friendly and watched me trim bushes from a distance of about four feet. He darted off to the edge of my porch and caught a bug and flew back to his perch and seemed to be displaying the bug to me.

Please answer questions I have about my Chimney Swifts - 1st time nest!

In a former house I owned with a chimney I had swifts one year and enjoyed their noise. However, at the end of the season, I decided to clean the chimney and ledge above the fire place. I found an immature chick that had apparently fallen from the nest and died. I put a screen on the chimney.

    Replacement feeder base

I would take the feeder to a store that sells a variety of feeders, such as Wild Birds Unlimited , Lowes, Home Depot or WalMart and see if any of the bases are similar. Buy the one that fits.

    abandoned hummingbird nest (thoughts?)

Any evidence of ants around the nest? In the South we have fire ants and I have heard they will kill baby birds.
