    The Binocular Journal

Today I was going to take out the Nikon EII 10x35 but as I was carrying a load for a longer hike I decided at the last minute to take out the lighter and smaller Ultravid 10x32. There I've mentioned binoculars so I can talk about what I saw now. ;). I took to the "Fell on Knee" trail which is...

    Nikon SE vs Everything.

You seem to have picked out a group you assume I was referring to and if that's true you'd be wrong. I was referring to no one in particular. Most everyone here has something to contribute and if you consider yourself challenged then it might be good also to assume you can't be sure of who is...

    Nikon SE vs Everything.

Very few people live such a simple philosophy it seems. It's the one that brings the greatest rewards IMO. If it's demented then bring it on and give me more time out in the wild enjoying the views. I think you are correct. It doesn't make any real difference when you add it up. I see some put...

    Binocular Classifieds

Neither of those links worked for me. Funny reasons however. Sorry the page you are looking for cannot be found. Rumor says it has been lost in NF 404 nebula.

    Nikon SE vs Everything.

If we are working for ourselves and our personal goals and satisfaction what others do can never affect that. Very few people experience that in fullness. I did the few times when I was self employed. They failed because I was the only one to really see the benefit in what I was offering but I...

Which roofs are better for their 3D view?

Just curious if anyone knows at what distance the 3D effect of porros actually diminishes to the point where it's not noticeable?

    Swarovski EL 8x32 Pure fun!

When I was her age my eyes were 20/17. I can't know what her vision is but I do know she was picking out small birds in foliage a lot more often and faster than I was. I consider her vision adequate.

    The Binocular Journal

What a day of wildlife viewing!!! I took the Swarovski EL 8x32 out for a hike which I usually don't do. I wanted to see how it performed in the deep dark green of the pine forest as opposed to open country birding. Boy did we see some stuff. This starts off on a sad note as we came upon a...

    The Binocular Journal

I got a free Nikon tee shirt too. I reviewed the EII on their website and chided them for discontinuing it and not putting up the specs (the anniversary model) like they do all their other binoculars for sale so the general public won't know how well it stacks up against their others. lol I'll...

Action 7x35 EX Extreme All-Terrain Binocular

I just bought the Aculon based on some high praise. I had a Amazon gift card rebate and after that discount they cost me $38. They better be worth all that dough.

I think we share opinions of corporate executives. :t: It's just business all the way down. I've learned a lot about "alpha" binoculars in the last couple of months. Much of it is hype imo and geared to selling to the most people at the best profit. I got caught up in it myself. I'm a pretty...

    The Binocular Journal

I think you're right. I just now added the 7x35 Aculon to my group of "alpha" bins. With a gift card from Amazon they cost me $38. Now that's my kind of alpha!

    The Binocular Journal

Well I find it amazing that a $60 binocular could be close at center to the SE. I'm going to have to find out now. You must be getting a kickback from Nikon. lol What more does an alpha need than superior optics and a solid build quality for the main part? I don't think cost should be an...

    Looking for a special 8x32

Well I did it. I took them all down a little and it's a tad better but I still want another rain-guard. If anyone knows what will fit and where to buy I'd love to hear.

    Swarovski EL 8x32 Pure fun!

I've used them every day since I got them. Usually they go birding with me and the Ultravid goes hiking with me. Today I got to take out my Ex girlfriends daughter and she got to look though the EL, UVHD and the EIIs. She thought they were all awesome but felt the EIIs were the most pleasing...

Action 7x35 EX Extreme All-Terrain Binocular

So does the Aculon and the Action both use the same optics and the difference is one being waterproof and the other not? Sorry if someone already mentioned this.

    Se 8x32

I think it may prove you enjoy the hunt and the chance to look at new glass like many of us here do. :t: The differences between all that glass as far as quality is likely not that great. It's just fun to try out new binoculars. Right now I have the EII in both 8x and 10x, the 8x32 EL, 10x32...

    Nikon SE vs Everything.

OK so this was interesting. I took out my EXs daughter hiking today. I've been teaching her how to use binoculars. In the second part of the day I put the EIIs on her and let her compare them to the Swaro EL I was carrying. I didn't tell her about them, I just asked her with her young 27 year...

    What is Meopta doing?

I have heard the Meostar is a wonderful optic but as you point out the FOV thing was just too small for me to even seriously consider it. I tried a Meopro and have not been impressed with it overall. It's got a decent FOV however.

Jape, IMO nobodies hijacking or trying to hijack this thread. Just folk sharing opinions and it's all opinions no matter who has one.

    Nikon SE vs Everything.

OK then I'm not the only one who sees this. The Image in the EIIs equals easily if not betters some of the best roof alphas. This is exactly why I must include this $500 Nikon with the Alphas. Maybe more so for the SE. I didn't want to see/acknowledge that at first and I had to get away from...

    Nikon SE vs Everything.

I was using the EII the other night for stargazing and after that I'll likely never use my 11x56 Oberwerk astro bins again. Who would have thought 30mm could bring the night sky alive like that. The only thing better are my Oberwerk 25x100s which really can show some stars in a dark sky. We...
