    Where's My Willow Warbler?

I know what you mean- its always going to be a long, WW summer, but it becomes an irritation if everyone else is posting about them and you're still waiting.

    Oliver Twist Birding

Avid readers will have worked out by now that I’m most definitely not a morning person. Which is unfortunate, given the amount of bird ‘life’ I miss out on by virtue of being a barely- functioning shell of a man before about half ten. My ‘birding hard reset’ though seems to have worked wonders...

    The Dry Spell.

I like how you slept in by 2 hours and still got out the door for 7:20........ I also like how you describe it as 'just about worth the effort.' I'd call it a damned fine morning's birding!

Timing Is Everything & A Birding Hard Reset

So much for the joy of being out...... Following my moan- fest in Dunbar I was desperate to get back out, find space and time, somehow and somewhere. I had booked a couple of days off work to give me a (very) long weekend, and had a set-in-stone plan to visit the Sma' Glen. The 'plan' if you...

Thanks for your kind words Dave! I'm hoping to get a couple of quality days out in the next few days that will bring back some positivity!!

The Passing Of The Seasons (Migrants).

I get the same vibe over here. Spring seems much more low key than previous years. Maybe becuse it hasn't stopped raining in 3 months.

The Passing Of The Seasons (Migrants).

Another excellent trip report. Definitely best of both worlds with winter drifting off and spring flooding in.

    Citadels And Symphonies

I can often be a bit grumpy. I’m happy to admit it, I often revel in it, as a joke my kids bought me one of those mood bracelets, and have since expressed concern about what I’d be like without it. Sometimes, though, my grumpiness is well warranted. I love being outdoors, and I struggle with...

    Pigeon- Counting In Leith

You should never believe your eyes….. My Aberlady trip had been, er, a bit of a challenge and I was determined to get back out as soon as humanly possible. And by human, I mean as soon as the competing demands of employment, wife and mini- Sandpipers allowed me. Now, I do love a challenge and...

    Musselburgh

the 124 is half- hourly, but I think there are others that go to or near Wallyford, but the 124 is the one I use and know best. I'll say this for the Embra bus service, its a damned sight better than what we have in the West.

    Musselburgh

I get the train from Waverley to Wallyford, with it being about a half hour walk (at my pace) to the 'old' scrapes from there. The 124 bus goes by there too (the bus I get to Aberlady) Took me ages to start using public transport to get there, but its second nature now.

    Musselburgh

Heading there tomorrow, so am confident that by the time I arrive there'll be no sign of ducks, doves or buntings of any description.....:(
