    I purchased 2 pairs of the 6x30 Savanna for Christmas presents after looking at Frank D's. 1 pair is for my 7 year old daughter and I think they are perfect for a young child. Nice view, priced right, and think the build quality was great. Much nicer than the similar priced Leupold Yosemite.

    Nikon Monarch 7 versus Vortex Viper HD

    I purchased both of these in 8x at Cabelas and took them home for a week for a try out. They are very similar in many ways. I ended up returning the Vipers since the M7s were less $$$$ and had a wider field of view. Just got back from hunting elk in CO and was impressed with my them.

    If they were 8x I would get them ASAP especially with Cabelas return policy. I find that I can't hold 10x steady enough or at least I think its a problem.
