    Original alpha

I had to pass due to the stiff focus and weak edges. A pity really.

The armchair or memory review, which is better?

The Virtual Review: Having read every thing posted on the internet about "XYZ" binocular, join in on the discussion, extolling its virtues and slagging off the competitors based on nothing more than hearsay. Any physical contact with said binocular is frowned upon and highly discouraged.

    Who's got the best box?

$5000 would not get you the box! ..the comments are great. Created quite the stir when it was posted. HERE's the box! *take note: White gloves included.* ..that just slays me!

    Who's got the best box?

Until I see different... It has to be LEICA! *porn warning for above link* o:D P.S. There's an amazing "box" in there so I had to post this! ..sick, I know.

How Long Should A Pair Of Bins Last

How long is a piece of string?! ..another one comes to mind, YMMV. o:D

    Sightron "Blue Sky" II 8x32

Dan, They have a thin, one piece plastic cover that snaps into the objective tubes. There is an attachment point on the cover that you could use for a tether point if you wanted to keep them attached to your harness/strap. When you say "don't have room for a tether" I'm not following you...

    Sightron "Blue Sky" II 8x32

Bryce, to "innovate" requires truck loads of cash! To "imitate", not so much. Thus the huge price discrepency between the Alphas and "others". Not saying that these are imitations, but being a n00b, I really don't know. ?? I DO know how this all works in other areas of manufacture and other...

Zen-Ray Binoculars Giveaways. Ultimate Prize: two pairs of PRIME HD binoculars

..does this also imply that that a winner will be announced?! Just seeking some clarity here. You know, the way things are going/have gone, you could technically close this thread and then leave us HANGING IN SUSPENSE (for God knows how long?) waiting for the announcement of a winner!

Zen-Ray Binoculars Giveaways. Ultimate Prize: two pairs of PRIME HD binoculars

..by the variance in our calendars, I wouldn't hold your breath. :king: Maybe these things are done in Mandarin Time? ..yes, that must surely be it. Us Westerners have been spoiled by all the Greco-Roman nonsense. What we need NOW is a correction factor!

Eye relief and exit pupil in binoculars

Ok, here goes a n00b question... Why all the variance in eye relief between binoculars??? Me being an eyeglass wearer made that a high priority on my recent selection. Now that I'm shopping for some stronger magnification bins, I've noticed that the manufacturer quoted specs drastically drop...

..if I read the "rules" correctly. I believe this last drawing is limited to ONE entry per person. So, if you've posted to this thread, you're entered. No need for the daily entries and thread bumping. Good luck to all.

    Sightron "Blue Sky" II 8x32

Really? ..wow, I must have missed that. And the search engine got me nothing! Such a nOOb, sorry. I just realized something, I haven't read this thread in its entirety. That's the trouble with these long threads, at least for new comers/me. My available time online is too sporadic. As many...

    Sightron "Blue Sky" II 8x32

I tried Google but got nowhere. Searched this site, nothing productive. ..so, here's one for people "in the know". These Sightron's have "Philippines" on 'em. Made in the Philippines?! That took me totally by surprise because I assumed, because of price, these would have surely been made...

Zen-Ray Binoculars Giveaways. Ultimate Prize: two pairs of PRIME HD binoculars

..I thought I told everybody to quit bumping this thread! The only one needing to post is Charles, informing me of my good fortune. My acceptance speech is prepared and waiting! :king:

    Kruger Caldera 8x42

Bruce, I'm hesitant to make a recommendation because I have no first hand experience comparing those two binoculars. I know that's always preferable. BUT IF.. I was in your position and torn/undecided between those two exact models, I would not hesitate to save $100 USD! Check this sale out...

Swarovski 8x32 EL & Nikon 8x32 SE what a combo!

De nada! Re-sizing images should be easy, not a chore. Brock made another good suggestion w/ VSO but it has much more to it. You may like/want that? It DOES have a GUI so that may be more comfortable/friendly to you? I'm unsure of you skill set but assumed the worst, thus my suggestion...

Swarovski 8x32 EL & Nikon 8x32 SE what a combo!

Bryce, I've been doing some investigating and my thinking was apparently in the wrong direction. I should have done that before posting on your thread, my apologies to all! But, since we've gone here, I feel that I could be of some help now. There is an image size restriction, but it is...

    Kruger Caldera 8x42

Welcome Bruce! Why are you comparing a 7x36 with an 8x42? The first thing most people do is pick the magnification needed and then narrow down the size of the binocular they would like to carry. ..seems a bit odd, but I'm new and still learning.

Swarovski 8x32 EL & Nikon 8x32 SE what a combo!

Bryce, I guess I should have just asked, "what was the original image size you uploaded" ??? ..the image I see of your binoculars you posted above is "213px × 159px". Once again, that's AFTER I click to "enlarge" the thumbnails. That's crazy small!

Swarovski 8x32 EL & Nikon 8x32 SE what a combo!

..forgive the n00b question guys, but is there a reason why, when members post pictures they're the size of postage stamps?! And yes, I'm talking about AFTER I "click" on them. They don't get any larger. ..sometimes smaller! ..I've ALSO noticed they have a lockdown on adding images directly...
