Barn Owl Viewing I must get over and see our barn owl. Any particular hide recommended? Or is it better to stay out in the open? Or just wait and see what happens . .? Pam

Very glad to hear. I remember some years back (2007?) when we lost them all and it took several years to build up population again. Pam

John one was close by the hide when I arrived at 9.15ish this morning. I watched him scamper away, to the right, and was hoping to see where he got out but I lost him once he was in the taller vegetation. Pam

"My" barn owl appeared from the area where you and Paul thought he'd be; a quick flash of white wings and he dropped down again in the same place, then flew out and sat in front of hide, and slightly to the left, on the fence posts I mentioned.

Special moment . . Barn owl re-appeared 5.25. Seen from Cuckoo Hide. He very obligingly sat on a fence post facing the hide and waited for supper to arrive. Then moved on to the next post and sat with his back to me. Probably there about 5 minutes in total. Wow! I hardly dared breathe. Anyway...

Which hide recommended for barn owl viewing, please? Worried my car'll get locked in the car park at barn owl viewing time! Should I park outside gate?

On field between A38 and concrete hide, at midday, 13 curlew feeding. I counted them 3 times to make sure!
