    New AX Visio 10x32 binocular

Impressions? Are the optics EL or NL quality? Pleased with the electronics?

    New AX Visio 10x32 binocular

If it executes as advertised and is robustly built (like the EL Range TA but unlike the NL Pure IMO) I'm a customer once an 8X32 or 8X42 is offered although I would consider a 10X42 if the 8 power is not offered by Swarovski.

    New Product for Birdfair 2023

I respectfully request an 8X or 10X50 NL Pure, but with the robustness of Noctivids or EL 12X50's, ergonomics of the NL's, and a focuser that rolls the same in month twenty-one as it did in month one (goes back to the robust build). THANK YOU!

    New Product for Birdfair 2023

There's already a Swarm bin with an MSRP North of $4,000, the 10X42 and 8X42 EL Range TA.

NL Pure vs EL - 10x42

Wow, I have to agree. The Noctivids were the best combination of image quality and robust build until the hunting community got the updated Swaro EL RF TA a couple years back. The EL RF TA are unfortunately overlooked by birders as they are slightly larger & heavier, not well known, and cost...

NL Pure vs EL - 10x42

The NL’s do have smoother focus action, but that action can change over time as mine did. I hope Swarovski has addressed this. My primary glass are now EL’s. Although not quite the optical equal of a new pair of NL’s, the EL’s build quality seems worth considering against the NL’s.

NL Focus Wheel Problems After Washing

We don’t know. The baby has been sent in for warranty work because he couldn’t handle the bathwater. My bins were coated in fine dust every day in East Africa during days in open observation vehicles (Even my OM-D EM-1 mirrorless didn’t mind a daily thorough rinsing). Salt deposits after...

With the recent price hikes, my spotting scope set-up now lists for $6,077. Yikes.

It is identical to the normal green version but for color. I previously had an ATX 115, I found the image phenomenal but the size and bulk prohibitive. The image on the 85mm is completely satisfying and I like the zoom range on the 85 starting at 25X instead of 30X. The Interior version lives...

Never imagined this conversation could actually end up with someone on a birding site attempting to actually flex (willi-waggle) a garish early 18kt Rolex Sky-Dweller. SMH.

With the recent price hikes, my spotting scope set-up now lists for $6,077. Yikes.

A flex is social-media speak for when one posts in order to show off their valuables in a non-humble way. To purposely brag by showing off something you own. Used positively and negatively. On a Rolex forum you could commonly see comments like “nice flex” when someone posts a picture of their...

I was just saying I was thankful to have purchased b4 the big price hikes, not that I want a lesser optic.

Glad I bought my 8X42 EL Range TA’s and ATX 85mm Interior Set-Up last year. From what I can tell I saved $500 just on the spotting package and I think $300+ on the bins.

Has anyone noticed their NL Pure binoculars misting up?

Yes. We took the 45 minute ride by small ship from Cape Town to Robben Island to tour Mandela’s former prison. Had no idea the island would have penguins. Lots of penguins.

Has anyone noticed their NL Pure binoculars misting up?

I think you know I haven't taken them apart and voided my warranty. You're making a point. As I've documented b4, the NL focuser within months had begun to change becoming irregular in it's feel of rotation. When I mentioned this to Swarovski CS, we had a broader conversation, and they...

Has anyone noticed their NL Pure binoculars misting up?

The NL Pure may not be robust enough for harsh conditions such as Alaska or Akugera Rwanda. I was an early adopter, but with the help of Swarovski pivoted to an EL Range TA and even in below zero weather and humid have been a superior build and just a hair or so below the NL’s industry leading...

    Swarovski ATX 115 Review

On the carbon fiber Gitzo a Swarovski compact I believe called a CTH as can be seen in the 3rd picture. I also use a Swarovski branded but made for Swarovski wooden tripod - it is very nice, primarily indoors. About 5 months ago I pivoted from the 115mm objective to an 85mm for the 25X...

Apple + Mag Views' Answer to the BTX or Any Long Duration Viewing

    1. The hack was presented for duration viewing, and used an example of an hour, the response comments seem to ignore that, instead commenting for general use which was not the point. 2. Akagera National Park, Rwanda, African fish eagle (Haliaeetus vocifer), 2016. Detail is not always...

Apple + Mag Views' Answer to the BTX or Any Long Duration Viewing

While I've used the BTX on board a 115 and 85, I just don't like it. It 1. eliminates zoom, 2. is massive, 3. looks like a weather station, 4. costs the same as a good electric bike, and 5. offers some eyestrain relief for folks untrained by say law enforcement or the military in using a single...
